The problem

Premium bats for serious athletes, but no digital layer means no way to measure performance, track improvement, or build mental toughness. The goal: bridge hardware and software to make Warstic a complete training system for both body and mind.

01 / Initial prototype

Starting point

01

Prioritized features

Prioritized core feature visibility to help users easily navigate the app and understand how it supports performance improvement.

02

Goal: visualize a great idea

Brought the concept to life by designing a visual experience that demonstrates how the product would function in real use.

What prompted the redesign
I was reminded of my why. As an athlete, I know firsthand that peak performance isn't just physical; it's 70% mental. Premium equipment can only take you so far.
This project explored a new dimension of Warstic, bridging hardware with the human side of sport to create a connected experience that not only tracks what athletes do, but empowers how they think, compete, and grow.
02 / What needed to change

Areas of improvement

Outdated interface design

The overall UI lacked a modern, intuitive feel, and did not reflect the performance-driven nature of the product.

Limited focus on mental performance

The initial concept emphasized physical metrics but overlooked the importance of mental health and mindset.

Insufficient prototype depth

The prototype lacked detailed flows and interactions, making it harder to fully communicate the product's functionality and real-world use.

Lack of goal setting

The experience did not provide a clear system for setting goals or tracking long-term progress over time.

The rebuild

01

Prioritized UI

Prioritized a full app revamp to deliver a modern, streamlined UI that made navigation intuitive and decisions clear for users.

02

Emphasized the mental performance UX

Elevated the mental performance experience by introducing a daily quotes feature and an interactive psychology section, bringing the mental side of the game to the forefront.

Looking back

What worked
  • Achieved a significantly more modern and polished UI from the initial prototype
  • Mental performance emphasis came through clearly in the final design
  • Delivered a comprehensive prototype that effectively brought the new UX features to life
Improvements
  • Incorporate real company data to better inform and align design decisions
  • Establish the importance of mental performance earlier in the user journey
  • Tailor training plans around each athlete's short- and long-term goals
Impact

Though a concept project, this work demonstrated the potential for a brand like Warstic to extend beyond their product and into the athlete's full performance journey. It showed that with the right digital layer, premium equipment can become the foundation of a smarter, more complete training experience.
